New stat system coming!


Chat, I think I’ve gone a little loco but let’s all pretend I haven’t, okay?

So, why is this update taking so long? Well… the old version of the game had a little 8-stat personality system on a 4-axis model. 

And then I thought: what if I ditched the numbers entirely and created a fully customized character psychology sheet for every possible MC?

How many stats would I need? Eight? Ten? Twenty-five??

Well, doctor, I can't really remember the rest, but I ended up with this.  

Introducing the new personality axis system!

Every in-game choice subtly shifts your MC along these 25 spectrums, creating your unique personality profile. 

Attached above is a peek at the new character description sheet I’m adding to the menu; each trait has three possible descriptions based on how far you lean in either direction.

Emotional – How the MC feels

  • Passion (0 = apathetic / 10 = passionate)
  • Composure (0 = anxious / 10 = composed)
  • Confidence (0 = insecure / 10 = confident)
  • Temper (0 = volatile / 10 = steady)
  • Outlook (0 = pessimistic / 10 = optimistic)

Social – How the MC interacts

  • Empathy (0 = cold / 10 = empathetic)
  • Wit (0 = earnest / 10 = witty)
  • Attachment (0 = detached / 10 = attached)
  • Trust (0 = suspicious / 10 = trusting)
  • Tact (0 = blunt / 10 = tactful)

Worldview - What the MC thinks about society and power

  • Altruism (0 = selfish / 10 = altruistic)
  • Individualism (0 = collectivist / 10 = individualist)
  • Authority (0 = conformist / 10 = rebellious)
  • Justice (0 = pragmatic / 10 = principled)
  • Idealism (0 = cynical / 10 = idealistic)

Philosophical – The MC’s beliefs about existence

  • Faith (0 = skeptical / 10 = faithful)
  • Hedonism (0 = ascetic / 10 = hedonistic)
  • Stoicism (0 = emotional / 10 = stoic)
  • Materialism (0 = spiritual / 10 = materialistic)
  • Meaning (0 = nihilistic / 10 = purposeful)

Behavioral – How the MC acts

  • Patience (0 = impatient / 10 = patient)
  • Eros (0 = reserved / 10 = lustful)
  • Curiosity (0 = incurious / 10 = curious)
  • Playfulness (0 = serious / 10 = playful)
  • Honesty (0 = deceptive / 10 = honest)

This seems like it’ll add even more depth to an already beautifully written game! I’ll admit, part of me worries just a bit about how much you’re taking on—not out of doubt, but because it seems like a lot to take on. I love this game so much and would be heartbroken if it ever became too much. That said, I truly believe in what you’re creating—your talent really soars. No matter how things unfold, I’ll be perched right here, cheering you on. (In case it wasn't obvious… Raven is my favorite character! He's so sassy. And I love a punny king.)

Oh my god! Thank you so much ❤️ Worry not, this is a project is too precious to be given up on. And tbh the new stat system isn't even hard to implement! It was way harder with the previous stat system because it felt so limited to write the MC’s responses. 

And also, rewriting the romance scenes is even harder hehe, because it has so many variables. But it’s part of the process!
